Need a new power steering pump!!!!

My power steering pump burned up and now I need a new one. I have the old V-belt system. Is there a way that I can get a newer pump and transfer the V-belt pulley onto it??? Where is a good place to look for a pump???

Advance auto parts, napa, autozone...ect...all sell the remanufactured pumps for pretty cheap. I think I paid 50ish for mine with a reservoir. Plus my 20% discount since I work at advance. If you change it you mid as well change the pressure and return lines also.

You'll have to swap your pulley onto any pump you buy anyway, just so you know.

yeah the new one from autozone doesnt come with the pulley on it ...but for like 15 bucks you can rent thier pulley puller and install it yourself for free then take the tool back and get your 15 bucks back....gotta love thier rental program....

Hey 83, I have just switched over to a serpentine drive on my '87 Z28 and have the old v-belt pump here that I'd like to get the hell out of my shop. It works fine and has the v-belt pulley intact. If it will fit your car I'll send it to you for just whatever it costs to ship it if you're interested, I'll even send you a pic of it if you want. PM me if interested.

Have you considered a junk yard? Probably a 10 dollar part, and it will fit like a charm. Thats what I usually do, clean em up, give them a coat of paint, they look like new, and cost about 1/5th of the cash.

I would just buy a remanufactured one if you can afford it. You never know what your gonna get from a junkyard. It could work fine for years...or spew fluid all over the place the next day.
