i have a 89 camaro rs v6 and i have a few questions.
1) Most of the times i push in the gas peddle i get this quite eee high pitch sound that kinda sounds like something a electronic would give off, what is it?

2) should the trunk be able to wable alot if you pull up? it doesnt open it just isnt very tightly closed.

Well as far as the trunk thing goes.....its probably just the latch is out of adjustment. My Camaro's trunk latch didnt close very well and one time it even flooded out because it didnt latch right...ruined a lot of **** I had laying in there!

As far as the eeee noise....you're probably going to have to be a lot more specific. Like, where does the noise sound like it's coming from....is your performance affected at all... Maybe a bad pulley bearing, or a PS pump low on fluid or going bad? Or maybe a bad wheel bearing? Or maybe your brakes are dragging and squealing?

 

its a relaly high pitch sound so its hard to really tell..i think maybe from the dash on the driver side. it doesnt affect anything i just am a bit worried about it. It only happens if i psuh on the pedal and it doesnt do it everytime. could it be that when i push on the gas peddle it hits some wire that makes oen of the speakers make it?

 

Sounds like without actually hearing it that it could be the speedo cable. They need to be lubed every couple of years. You can get cable lube at a autoparts store.

 

If it is an '89, then you have the automatic pulldown on the rear hatch... it is probably broken and needs repair (visit TDS, a sponsor of TGO for repair kits).

 

i hope that is that. I read somewhere that if your spedometer goes up and down alot when it should be steady that it should be lubed and thats what happens to me. thanks for all the help

ok..the sound only happens when im driving so its very possible its coming from the cable but it doesnt get louder if i go faster or quiter if im going a constant speed so i dont know if its that. Could it be a belt thing? oh and i just found out that i have two small holes in my radiator that just got bigger today and drained all my fluid...could that of been it?
