Why's my car shakin?!??

Ok check this stuff out....It's in my 4th gen...but i figure there isn't much difference...I can be driving..then all the sudden my whole car shakes violently, steering wheel majorly...i thought i had a flat tire! i got out and checked and they were all good...this happens when i get over about 50 mph...but then it goes away after a few minutes of shaking....i thought it might be the tranny, so i put it in neutral, and it still keeps shaking!!! So I have about pinpointed it to the wheels or tires or suspension correct? Maybe a wheel bearing???
Help me out guys...This is my daily driver!!

sounds like a suspension/wheel problem. does turning have any effect on it? i would jack the front end up and take a look at the tie rod ends and ball joints.

Check and make sure your tires don't have any bulges in them. Even small ones will do it (and from the sound of it, it may just be a small one)

When was the last time you had your tires balanced? Drive through mud lately? (remember my cousin Vinnie?) The mud sticks to your tire and dries... and causes it to be unbalanced...

Check around on all the suspention stuff down there, make sure everything is tight (not hanging off).

If it's nothing you can pick out with your own eyes... take it to a trusted tire/suspention place in your area and have them check it out...

Drive CAREFULLY!

And good luck.

Perhaps the driveshaft?,i agree about the tires,if she sat all winter then the wheels can get flat spots.

Had the wheels aligned lately? The exact same thing happened to me, and i got all these different prognosisesses on what was wrong, but all i needed was an alignment. Now i can go well over 100 and not have any wobble or anything. Well *cough cough* thats in theory... :P

got a 94 myself and haven't run into that on mine or at work, but i'd guess from the description that you have a problem from the driveshaft. i do see you said it is harsh from the steering wheel which means you should check the tie rod ends and ball joints.

ok well i don't think it's out of alignment, because i got a ticket for 96 the friday and this started on wednesday....I was thinking main bearing where the driveshaft goes into the transmission the more i've thought about it...because it's not a constant thing, and it is hard to put in gear and i get a kind of humming sound when i let off the clutch til it warms up....Any ideas now?

drive your car down the road and note the rpms when the car starts wobbling now stop your car and drive your car to the same rpms but in first gear if it wobbles in first at the same rpms then its your drive shaft if it doesnt wobble in first at the same rpms then you now know for sure it isnt your driveshaft

uhhh... What does the road look like?
Just kidding, I don't got a clue. My third-gen shakes pretty bad when I hit the brakes, but I just had the rotors machined by a reputable shop! Ah well, sh(t happens.

if it constantly happens at high speeds, get your tires rebalanced. It will only take a small pothole or brush against a curb to knock these things out of balance. Check to see if your missing any wheel weights also. Start with the simple stuff.
