Help, electrical problems, among other things.

Okay, i've been having some pretty bad electrical problems, and was wondering if there's a common 'cause on these cars for such to be happening.
I can be driving, and I'll hit a bump, and my cd player will completely shut off, lights will dim, etc. Sometimes my cd player will get completely reset, like being disconnected and reconnected.
And I don't know if this is related, but it's been having a bunch of problems just idling a driving.
Before when this happened (in a smaller scale) a sparkplug wire was rubbing the firewall and that's what it was, but now I can't figure it out

any, and I mean any, help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

check your grounds or check the radio harness for a power wire with a rubbed out insulation,it may be shorting out, also check your front speakers and make sure they are not touching metal with their bodies

Yeah, I'd recommend the battery connections and the engine grounds on the back of each head, as well as the engineand battery to frame grounds.

hey thanks for the input.
I was a little pressed for time but let me go into it some more for the heck of it.
At one time it was having trouble starting, as well as shaky electrical power throughout the car. I could hit a bump, my lights would completely shut off and flash back on, and everything. I changed the starter and it fixed the starting, as well as all the electrical. (coincidence?)
It happened another time, shaky idle, acting like it wasn't getting enough fuel at all, lights cutting out on bumps, and I checked my sparkplug wires and one was grounding out (or at least sitting on) the firewall. Fixed the problem completely.
Now it's doing it again. How can so many different culprits fix the same problem? I'm boggled here.
I will try and check my grounds, but as far as the radio goes, I have a few questions. I can have my radio off and it still does it, so can I rule out problems with the headunit/speaker setup? Or can an unpowered stereo system mess with the rest of the electrical system?

And there's a guy who owns a shop oriented for fixing car electrical problems, my dad's friend, and he was saying there's a connector in the center of the firewall somewhere on thirdgens that if messed up can mess with the whole wiring system. He has a gta so he's familiar with the thirdgen in particular, but I may have to just bring it in to him and pay the money

the only electrical type conection in the middle of the firewall is the body to engine ground.and it's not really in the middle it's more on the pass. side.

Check that the nut on the starter that holds the batt cable on, is tight.
