Need "Tune Up" suggestions

FINALLY bought a thirdgen...89 WS6 Formula, 350 (Carb'd, origionally had a 305), automatic.....95k origional miles, dunno how many are on the engine itself...Wont be able to get plates till monday, so i've got the weekend to get it in top shape so i wont have to worry about driving it or anything....its fine as is but could probably use the tune-up ;-)
Also, i've got somewhat limited tools and space, just my driveway, and no real way of supporting the car (ouch...can probably still do an oil change though, lol)
What should I do? Plugs? wires? oil + filter? Its got an Edelbrock re-usable filter (the small triangle shaped one....lol), e-brake doesnt work....
What should i do? Thanks
-Chris

First order of business: get rid of the Edelbrock "triangle of death", preferably before it catches fire or gets sucked into the carb.

Get a pair of Rhino plastic ramps so you can safely get under the car.

Oil change and spark plugs would be my first order of business, check and correct the other fluid levels, maybe pop on a new fuel filter.

Grab a Haynes manual for the car (or a Helms if you can pop $80 or so) so you'll have good info and procedures to work with.

bought the Haynes manual yesterday :-)
Should i get a K&N filter, or could I get one of the less expensive immitations? Does it matter really? Are the edelbrock carb's really that awful/prone to catching fire?
lol
Thanks

Not the carb; the air cleaner.

Yes they really are that bad. Maybe worse.

But yeah, all the usual tune-up and "just bought a car" things; plugs, wires, cap, rotor, all fluids, all filters, belt maybe, find & fix any leaks, check the brakes, fix the parking brake, etc.

Some great advice here. I dont even know why they keep selling those POS's.

ok...went to autozone, got an edelbrock air filter assembaly.....(chrome, now making the rest of the engine look like dog****, lol), a set of AC Delco plugs, Bosch wires, and a few other misc. things (rear view mirror cement or whatever, some carpet shampoo, etc.)
Should I just go through the "Tune up" section in the Haynes manual? or is that overkill? not enough?
Thanks,
-Chris

Oil/filter
Fuel filter
Air filter
Transmission fluid/filter
Rear end fluid
O2 sensor
Spark plugs/wires
Distributor cap/rotor

Above should total close to $200. If it doesn't then I left a few things out and I'll try to find the list I had come up with somewhere. Its late and I'm a bit tired right now to think.

Check and grease all brake/body/suspension parts.
Check exhaust and emissions equipment.
Check tires and alignment
Check all lights, etc.

Find and fix any existing problems pertaining to performance/safety.

My first air filter was a stock repalcement STP for $5 or $6 to use until I got the pieces together for my cold air intake with a K&N..
