a/c delete box question
are the motors the same. also are the cages the same. the one that i have from the a/c box is to wide. i went to the parts store to get the a non A/C cage and the guy said that there was no listings, just a standard one. i told him that it was for an 84 camaro with a/c delete heater box, but no luck. let me know what you guys think.

Your AC blower motor can be swapped to the non-AC box to save rewiring hassles, but you'll need a shorter fan, like you figured. Check for one to fit something like an Impala (Caprice), Cutlass, Regal, Monte Carlo, etc. I've read of some people making a spacer to sit the motor further out for clearance.
You might also have to modify the area where the resistor pack sits in the box, but I'm not sure as I haven't seen an AC box up close to tell - all 4 of my thirdgens were non-AC.

Motors and cages are different anything you do to make an A/c blower motor fit will be custom

I made a 1 inch spacer out of billet aluminum....you could try doing something like that.
