Hi guys. This topic may have been covered but I don't have time to search through all the posts to find out. So here it is, are the nuts for the lower half of the motor mounts captured to the crossmember so ya don't have to get a wrench on them or do you have to remove the whole frickin a-arm to get at them? I'm in the middle of swapping out my rubber mounts in favor of urethane ones to get my SLP headers to fit without hitting anything.

Damn, that sucks. I guess now would be the time to tack weld the nuts on then as well as replace my a-arm bushings. Thanks.

yeah i just got back from home depot with a lincoln 3200HD mig welder. I've needed one for a while now but I was hoping to get a bigger miller but I said screw it and got a cheaper one that will do the same job. It welds everything from aluminum to stainless up to 5/16ths thick which is thicker than anything on a third gen.

Ah, if you are pretty good at welding, would you mind welding some aluminum for me? I need to weld some plugs into the bottom of a set of heads (T6061 aluminum plugs into aluminum heads). PM me if ya could

I took apart my front end back in the spring and don't remember having issues with the mounts (although they could be still on the crossmember; it's been a while since I've seen them last).

Aren't there access holes to the inside of the x-member behind the springs? I am pretty sure all I had to do was stick a regular wrench in there to unscrew the mounts. Then again, it could have been something else.

it is possible to hold the nuts with a 1/4 swivel and/or a wrench, depending on which one your working on, not easy however. I tacked Mine!

Yeah, I've already got the a-arms completely off. I figure i might as well replace my lca bushings while I'm at it. I'm gonna tack em tomorrow.
