engine stalls when cold after CTS replaced.
Greetings all,
It's been awhile since I was here last; just finished moving. Anyway, I had a broken CTS that was replaced about a month ago.
Since having it replaced, every morning when I start the car to goto work, I have to feather the accelerator in order for the RPM's to stay high enough to not stall. It usually takes about a minute of this before I can even try to drive under load without stalling. It's quite frustrating.
Now, before having the CTS replaced, it never did this. Even with the broken one, it never did this. It started stalling on me at any given time during the day; which is why I had it replaced. I've talked to the shop that did the work and they of course told me to bring it in so they could have a look. Cool.
Could it be possible that I've got a bad CTS? I thought it could be possible, however, the car runs strong all day long after the cold start fiasco every morning.
This is on a bone stock '91 Z28 350 TPI.
Thanks

are you sure that it's hooked up right? If so, you may want to check your TPS and IAC... the other sensors wont come into effect until the car is warmed up.
BTW, when was the last time the car had a good tuneup?

I am having the same problem and cant figure it out, are you saying that the only 3 sensors that have to do with OPEN loop are the IAC, TPS, CTS??

Its absolutly possible that your present cts could be causing your problems. With that type of FI system, knowing the engine/intake temp is critical for proper operation.
You can check the resistance of the cts with a DVM. If you dont have a scantool, off the top of my head, you can also backprobe the CTS connector and make sure there is some voltage between 0 and 5 volts with the cts hooked up.
