Need new valve covers with the right holes
I am replacing the valve covers on my 84 Z28 305 and i see alot of covers with one hole on each cover. On my drivers side cover I need two holes but don't see who sels them.
I have painted my engine aluminum color and brackets black and now i am sick of those colors what can I do to mix up the colors a little and keep a color sceem. I am painting the car a high metallic silver flake color if that helps.

I took a 1.25" hole saw to my valve covers. Find out where you want the hole then punch the hole. File the edge down so it's not so rough. Fill the hole in with the right sized grommet.
Throw in some red. Nice bright shiny red. Red usually looks nice on a black/aluminum color scheme.

HEY Steaman how are u...
Can I measure the spot of the hole on the covers I have now and get it close type of thing or do they have to be in a specific place on the cover.
I was thinking red. Its hard to image what a color will look like in the bay it would be nice to have a bunch different colors of stuff laying around to check it out.
Steakman: my motor is almost ready to go in car just putting finishing touches on it and some help and that baby is ready to fire. I am getting nervous about the start tho. worried I did something wrong and going to hear TICK TICK TICK BOOM. we will see i send you a pick when its ready.. wont look as good as yours but not bad for my cherry being popped.

I am well, thanks. Yourself?
I just flipped mine over so they lay on top of eachother, "roof to roof" so to speak, I guess. I took a sharpie and traced the hole from one onto the other. I removed the baffles on mine for clearance issues. Obviously, if you have baffles, this trick won't exactly work. From there, I just drilled it out slowly. The exact placement doesn't really matter. I've seen them installed on the sides, on funny angles, all over the place. I guess if you want similarities, you could find the center of the hole then measure its distance from the edge and make a straight line across.
And for the notice, my engine is getting torn back apart...again.
Float me a PM or send me an e-mail and I can explain the story and the latest on my car.
