Stealth Ram AFPR issues?

Ive been having a few issues with my Stealthram intake. I turned the key to the "on" position just to prime the fuel system to check for any leaks and found that the fuel rail gauge showed 20 PSI and then dropped to 0 PSI in a few seconds.I figured there was a leak even though I could not find one. Not even a fuel smell. I tried turning the fuel pressure regulator adjustment screw with no change at all. I then decided to clamp the return line and re prime the system. 20 PSI and no bleed down. So Ive narrowed the problem to the regulator. Is it possible I installed in wrong or something? Or is the regulator just crapping out? Thanks for any input.

What kind of fuel pump do you have??? some have check valves to hold the psi up some aftermarkets don't ..... was this a TPI motor or did you change it??
have you tried the gauge on another car to make sure it works????
also check to see if you have a inj stuck open ...

I can't think of anything else to check hope it goes well

Clamped the return and only got 20psi? Sounds like the pump itself. I just went through this. If I clamped the return, I got over 60 psi. Unclamped, couldn't adjust to over 25psi. My problem was regulator. Yours sounds like pump.

It was a TPI before. I only changed the intake from an Eddelbrock TPI. The fuel pump is a Walbro 255lph. Ive tried 2 different gauges with one being my old one that was working a few weeks ago. Ill try clamping it again and give her a few primes. Yhat was just a quick key turn. Does it matter how full the gas tank is?. Ill go try right now...................
Ok. Clamped the return line....primed 3 times with set screw all the way clockwise....gauge read more than 65psi and holding....check for leaks....none....remmoved clamp and turned set screw counter clock wise and have pressure set at 45psi and now it appears to be holding at least for the minute I watched it. Maybe something wasnt sitting right in side and now with the pressure it was pushed into place? Anyways Ill check it again in 15min to see if pressure has bled all the way off. Thanks for the replys guys!!!

UPDATE: 30min or so later the regulator has maintained pressure!!! Its dropped to 40psi. I guess it just need the pressure once to fill the rail from empty. Thanks again.

Cool!! May have been reading only priming pressure the first time? Sounds logical.

Checked it after work...like 9 hours later...bled to 30psi....so that seems to be acting the same as the old TPI set up

the check valve in the fuel pump may not be sealing properly.

I have also been told that the Holley AFPRs are supposed to bled off pressure fairly fast.
