Wont turn over. Just drains battery

I dont get it. When i go to try to start my 86 Iroc (305 TPI) it makes no noise but the fule pump pumping. I trun it to start and they lights dim and nothing happens, not even a click sound. Did i burn the stater up? the solinoid? any ideas before i spend a bunch. I checked the fuse block and everthing is ok.

It's hard to say. Your best bet is to take both the battery and starter down and have them both tested. Once they are tested then go from there.

Hope that helps.

If everything works except the starter, I would suspect a faulty solenoid.

Best advice ever, get everything tested.

I'm going to bet its the battery or a bad connection/ground. But as Mike said it could be the solenoid. But since its getting colder out the battery has much less power.

same thing happened to me...definately check your starter wires to see if they are loose.
