why is it so damn hard to find a iroc

I'm 16 and don't have all the money in the world. but i have around 2000 and can't find a iroc for nothing. i figured I could get a good iroc for 2g's with minimal problems. but some of the people out here are crazy. They want 2G's for irocs with very high mileage and a lot of things that need to be fixed. i know to be patient and everything. but i'm getting frustrated and am starting to lean to a nice family car from a old lady. I don't want to give up on thirdgens but people want to much. I thought 2000 was enough for a mechanically sound 3rdgen. but i guess not. could anyone help. if you stay in michigan near the detroit area and have a iroc for 2gs. please and i mean please reply. if you have any tips on finding cars or any advice. help. from a frustrated thirdgen camaro lover.

check this out
https://www.thirdgen.org/internal/cl....cfm?adid=6533

just keep an eye on the classifieds on this site and others probably too, also look on www.autotrader.com or www.traderonline.com (look under classics) also if you guys have them, read the autoTrader mags. I was a regular at 7-11 while looking for my car. Also the free classifieds and whatnot.
Don't get discouraged, you'll find one.

By the way, I found mine on Traderonline.com after about 6 months of looking...$3700. still have the printed out ad

If you get into the Des Moines area there are plenty of them roaming around in dealership lots and peoples front lawns. Don't know about 2000 worth though. Also check out the auto trader mag. and don't be afraid to do a little of traveling to get the car.

To answer your question...

IROC's were only made for 5 years.

On that note, if you happen to come across an IROC with a 350tpi with a manual in it that came that way from the factory, ***B U Y *** ***I T *****

BUYYY IT! BUY!

Just make sure it came that way from the factory.

I'm 16 and I paid $5000 for my car (all $5000 of it- no parental help crap like 75% of my school). But then again I had saved for that money for 14 months

Agreed with whoever said to take your time and find yourself a good one. If you're not knowledgable enough to realy asses the condition of the car, take it to your mechanic and have it checked out. I jumped on one of the first cars I looked at, and it had alot of hidden problems. It did have a clean, rust free body (rare for NE ohio) but I've put about as much as I paid for it into repairs and repairs/upgrades, and I have finally gotten it to a point where it is a good, reliable vehicle that I can drive the 4 hours to college in.
