How in the world to I disconnect this??!!

How do I disconnect the wiring harness where it goes into the firewall on the driver side? It looks like it goes into the dash area. Also I think I see two small wires that go under the trans tunnel....do you know what these are? I've almost got my entire wiring harness out!!!! The motor and tranny comes out this saturday!!!

Paul,

If one of the wires going under the trans tunnel is purple, and one is tan/black, you've probably found the harness for the torque converter clutch connection at the trans.

The bulkhead connector at the firewall is a PITA to disconnect. It generally involves removing a screw or two that hold the connector in place, then fighting the clips and tabs that hold the connector in place.

Ok well here's what happened tonight....I tried to pry the clips off, but when I started pulling the connectors back the wires weren't coming with them. There was some black stuff like silicone under there too. Is this bad, or do I just need to pull some more?

I believe buried under all that weather proofing crap on the plug is a bolt/screw hold it in.
