Why are the Accel injectors so cheaply priced????

I need new injectors for my TPI motor. I was looking at Accel's and Holley's injectors. Accel 24# injectors (Part # 150824)are only $230. Holley injectors (Part # 522-2408) are $470. Why is there such a big price difference? Are the Accel injectors crappy? Or are the Holleys just overpriced? Will these Accel "Universal" injectors fit into a TPI motor? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

SVO 24# injectors are even cheaper than the Accel.

The Holleys and GM injectors are just overpriced, plain and simple. Both the SVO and Accel come from Bosch, cant go wrong with that.

So are the Accel 24# injectors and the Ford 24# injectors the exact same thing? If so, why the difference in price? Are the Ford injectors the ones in Summit for $220 for the Mustangs? Both the Accel and Ford injectors will plug in and work okay, right? Thanks.

Because Accel wants more money in profit? AFAIK there are no differences at all besides the color. The only thing you might ask about is the design, if its pintle, disc, or has a bunch of holes in it. I think those are both lightweight pintle design.

I have a set of 30# injectors sitting right next to me, an 86 TPI base, and a fuel rail that I think is off an 85, I test fit the injectors and had no problems. I have heard of different orings that are smaller than stock GM orings, but I dont have them on mine.

So will both the Mustang and the Accel injectors fit? Will going to 24# injectors be too big for my motor right now? Will there be any problems or will I actually benefit? My current injectors are bad, so I need to replace them anyways, and I eventually plan on buying a Super Ram, so I figured I should get some bigger ones. All mods listed in sig. Thanks for the help.

I've read that the Accel's use the "Bosch style" pintle, but can't confirm that they're in fact made by Bosch. I wouldn't put it past Holley to sell somebody elses product w/ their name on it. Somebody here bought a Holley in-tank FP for $250 IIRC, only to get the same Walbro 255lph pump that I got for $93 from Ron Gregory over at APE.

Yes, those are the ones!! The Accel injectors used to be priced up around the same price as the Holley and GM injectors until recently when the price was dropped to compete with the Ford SVO injectors since they're the same and more people are buying those! The main difference between the injectors is the rating though! Ford rates injectors at a lower fuel pressure so if you bought 24# SVO injectors and put them in your thirdgen they would actually act like 26# or 28# injectors with the higher fuel pressure that our cars require!!

With all that said.... I went through this decision making myself on which injectors to buy! In the end I decided to go over to the classifieds on the camaroz28.com message board and I found a set of 24# LT1 injectors and picked up the entire set for $25... then I sent them to Cruzin Performance (www.cruzinperformance.com) and for $80 they cleaned them, replaced the screens and o-rings, and flow matched them so that they now flow BETTER than they did when they came from the factory!! So basically, I paid $105 (plus slight shipping) for a perfectly good set of 24# injectors instead of over $200!

madmax, the Accel injectors are not from Bosch....some company, can't recall the name right now, produces these injectors for Accel as well as many other places, ie. NAPA and the like.

Like 406TPI said, Accel recently switched suppliers. Was Bosch; now it's Siemans (I think). Rich at Cruzin has the scoop. I installed a set of the new 21 lb/hr injectors in January and have been happy with their performance.

My friend new a guy he works with on a baha racing team that used to work for rodchester fuel injection. It cost them something crazy like $5.47 to make a fuel injector including overhead. With that in mind $230 dollars does not sound so cheap.

Toliet paper costs about $.02 per dozen rolls to make too. If it wasn't for markups, no company on earth could turn a profit.
