mixture control selenoid
I have no idea how to replace the mixture control selenoid, but no matter what i do my car seems to still run rich. i'm going to change my oxygen sensor, but how much would it cost to also change my mixture control selenoid? how much work would i be getting myself into? thanks

If you hear it "ticking" when you roll the key forward w/ out starting the engine, it's not the M/C solenoid.
Do you have the Q-jet tools and gauges to adjust rich & lean stops?
Did it ever run right before?

To get to the M/C solinoid you have to take the airhorn off the carburator, after that, unscrew the one screw that holds it in and carefully lift out the metering rods and gently slide it up and out. puttin that carb together right with the TPS stayin in will be a beeeaach. My suggestion would be to go to your local parts house and buy the haynes rochester quadrajet book. it has step by step on how to do it correctly using a carb stand and such...that is how I learned and I also learned alot about how it works doing it. after puttin it back together, if you have more than 10 extra screws, well....your S.O.L.
good luck
