L69 Specs

Can anybody point me to the full specs for a 1984 L69 transam engine? I've searched high and low but all I can find are horsepower/torque ratings and such. I'm looking for all the components it came with. heads, cam, pistons, carb, intake. You get the picture. Thanks for the help. ---Rich

Also the exhaust manifolds had bigger outlets.

Intake manifold is the same as the LG-4

Cylinder heads are the same as the LG-4

Flat top pistons were used instead the LG-4 dish in 1983-1985.

180 hp @ 4400 ?

The above mentioned camshaft as well.

Different secondary metering rod and hanger. Dual snorkel air cleaner, corvette high flow catalytic converter, lower restriction exhaust, higher stall torque converter. The L69 also had special tuning in the ECM (probably spark table changes). I believe they also all came with an electric fan and no belt driven fan.

I guess what I'm really looking for is a full parts list of what came in the engine. You know casting numbers and part numbers. If it also has the specs on the parts all the better. You know like GM flat top 2 valve relief pistons Part # xxxx-xxx. I'm breaking one of these down and don't know if it was messed with. It's got to be available somewhere. I have the chilton manual but it doesn't have this. I wonder if the full 1984 Firebird Shop Manual would?

I have an 86 H.O. out of a 86 Monte Carlo SS and it has 4 valve reliefs with flat top pistons not 2. I am pretty sure that is the same piston used in the earlier versions as well.

Here is the factory GM cam part number. It was actually manufactured by crane.

12353916 Camshaft Kits
All model small-block Chevrolet V8 1981-87 with computers and non-roller camshafts. Designed for cars with 305" HO and 350" engines that cruise above 2600 rpm, also good for 350" trucks with suitable cruise rpm.

Technical Notes: These are hydraulic flat tappet camshaft kits. The duration at .050 lift (intake/exhaust) is 204/214 degrees, and the valve lift is .423"/.446". Lobe centerline is 110. This camshaft kit is emission legal in all 50 states. This camshaft kit is designed and manufactured by Crane Cam Co.®. It contains one camshaft and 16 tappets.
