L98 Cam?

I am swapping my LB9 for a L98. While the engine is out i would like to put a decent cam in. I plan on new heads later. So if any body could recommend a good cam with stock heads and maybe afr 180's or L98 alum heads later. Thanks

with stock TPI i am assuming??

comp cams compucam 210-220 with around .500 inch lift is nice as long as you got some headers and exhaust and a air filter. LOL

same goes with zz4. works great i heard.

if you go AFR heads, then get a different intake or upgrade to hsr/superram/high flow TPI stuff... then get a good cam like LPE 219, TPIS zz9, or something between 212 to 224 intake duration with similar exhaust duration.

should work good.

but what are your plans for the car? what peformance are you looking for?

Watch the lift. The heads in absolute stock form cannot tolerate a whole bunch of lift. .480" is the most, so figure .450" you should be fine. You'll need new springs and probably screw in studs just to be safe.

My plans are- hsr, either the afr's 0r alum l98 heads. I already have headers, K+n filter. Thinking about vortec heads and lt-1 intake. Which way would you go? thanks for the help this is for street use.

Keep the stock L98 till you can get the heads you want. I'd go with AFRs. Then change the cam when you change the heads.

AFAIK Vortec heads aren't compatible with the LT1 intake.
...Never bothered to try it out, but some of the guys here have said it won't work so I'll assume it's true.
