Vibration Damper Removal?

I'm working on a 350, and it's time to get the Damper off, but i don't have a Bolt Grip Puller. I already tried giving the damper a tap or two with a hammer, but it won't budge. Is there another way to get the damper off?
Thanks

DON'T HIT IT WITH A HAMMER under any circumstances!!! You will destroy the blob of spooge that holds it together and risk having the outer ring fly off at high RPMs.

Go to AutoZone or some one of the other chain stores like that and "rent" a balancer pulle/installer. They're free, and don't damage anything.

No, there is no other way to get it off if you plan on using either the balancer or the crank ever again.
