L98 stock cam question.
I am in the process of rebuilding my stock L98. I am about to order a new factory cam, but I was wondering if the computer would be able to handle the slighly higher horsepower 89 model cam even though I have a stock 88 engine and ECU. I saw on the tech data that the 89 had a slightly higher HP rating and a slightly diffrent grind on the cam. I want to stay pretty much stock. I dont want to get into having to replace the chip or anything, just wanting to keep it simple and bullet proof as a daily driver...good gas mileage and all.
THANKS!!

Oh sure. No prob.
I'm running an Isky 270 Mega-cam (221/221 @ 0.05" duration) with no problem on the stock computer.

I know there is a big diffrence between this L98 and the 85 cc carbed 305's, but I helped rebuild one, and we ended up having to take off the cc carb, and replaced the dist with a vacum advance type. I REALLY hate to make that mistake again. I am gonna mike the cam and see how much it wore, but I get a feeling it'll end up needing one. Hate to have a FRESH engine and a wore out cam. I just figured if I can getaway with a little more, I might as well give it a little more.
