Car wont run right!

this just happened out of no where. about a week ago i went to get in my car and go to school. i started it and it turned over but wouldnt stay running. i can give it all the gas i want and it will run but as soon as i stop giving it gas the damn thing dies. i have a couple of ideas in my head but im probably wrong so does anybody have any idea of what the problem could be?

Do you have any stored codes in the ECM??? My best guess is to unplug the MAF while the car is off. Then try to start it. If it fires up and runs do a search for code 33 and code 36 and figure out the location of your MAF relays. Test relays before replacing the MAF as they are way cheaper to replace.

EDIT: IAC is the idle air control valve in your throttle body. Do a search for it as well as Vader and you should find some pretty awsome info that he has posted on this.

I unpluged the MAF and nothing changed. how do i know if i have any codes stored in the ECM?

Check the Tech Articles at the front page of the site. There are instructions for retrieving error codes.

As long as you are searching for information, perform a search for "IAC cleaning" and see what is displayed.
