serpentine system

Does anyone know if the serpentine system from a v6 camaro will fit on a V8 engine? My dad has 83 with a 383 in it and has been looking for one of the serpentine systems to add. One from another camaro is a lot cheaper than buying an aftermarket one.

I would suggest buying a complete system from Ebay or a junkyard. I have seen several auctions for compete systems down to the belt, alt. and compressors and bolts, for $200+, and you could probably go to a junkyard, rip off the parts yourself, and get an even better deal. I don't know for sure, but I don't think the V6 and the V8 families have the same serp belt. It'd be a lot easier to grab one you know will work off an existing V8. Good luck...
