Bad Starter?

When i start my car first thing in the morning i get a loud grinding noise, when i let go of my key and try it again it will hook up and start it does this mabey the first two or three times i start my car a day and it really sounds bad when people are around. I was thinking it may be my ring gear or could it just be my starter? What do u guys think.

It is your starter solenoid I bet, mine did the same thing and I took the starter apart and replaced the solenoid and it started like new again, don't wait too long or it WILL mess up your ring gear, and don't put a cheap rebuilt starter on it either, even if it comes with a lifetime warranty, they never seem to last and will leave you stranded, get your starter rebuilt at a good starter repair place or get a good OEM rebuilt Delco starter.
