oil pressure sender/switch?
I have an 89 TBI RS Camaro. My oil pressure guage does not work. There is a sensor or sender on either side of the car that contols something for the oil. Which is the one above the oil filter? What is the name of the one with one wire that is just above the starter?

I think the one above the starter would be the knock sensor. Oil sender is always next to the oil filter.

There's alot of confusion about these sensor locations.
The knock sensor is in front of the starter in the center of the block just above the oil pan lip.
The sensor above the starter on the cylinder head between The #6 & #8 spark plugs is the High Temperature Fan switch. The other one on the driver's side head is the coolant temperature gauge sensor, it's dedicated to the temperature gauge, and has no connection to the ECM.
Both the Knock and Fan switch have Identical connectors so don't get them confused.
If you have a one-wire sensor to the left of the distributor behind cyl #7 it's the oil sending sensor.
If the sensor at the oil filter has two-wires it's the Fuel pump switch (switched by oil pressure.) If it's a 3-wire then it a dual sensor for the Fuel pump switch and the oil pressure guage.
The 1991 and later models combine the oil sending sensor, and the Fuel pump/oil pressure switch into one, and is located at the oil filter.

Not trying to hijack your post, but does anyone know the colors of the wires going to the knock sensor and high temp fan switch? My connectors are broken off (motor swap). I think ive got the white connected to the knock sensor and the black to the fan switch. Anyone? (89 rs was 305 now 350, yes i have the 350 knock sensor)

If there's no sensor behind the driver's side head, then the oil guage and pressure switch are one sensor located over the oil filter.
I have two sensors in the two locations I mentioned. The oil sender is a single tan wire, anf the pressure switch has a tan/wht & an org.
On my 88' the knock wire is white, and the fan temp switch wire is gray.
