cams?
what cam is good for my 305. it has a tranny cooler, stahl, shift kit k&n's, intake mods. but still has stock injectors. i am wanting to port and polish the heads before summer but dont know if my tpi plenum needs to go and be ported with it. this may effect how big of cam i can put it, but i am not sure. Also, can i put a cam in without pulling the engine, or can i do it by taking off the front bumper cover? I would like some suggestions and quick horsepower tips i can use before the summer. i have put a lot of money into the body work this winter, but want to to move a little faster then what it does. something to keep me satisfied until my 406 is done. thanks, 86irocboss

The main issue is keeping the computer happy. Getting a cam that the manufacturer has designed to do that is your best bet.
Try www.summitracing.com , on-line catalog, engine components, etc. When you start looking at cams, you can select your engine type and year, and computer cams will be one of your choices.
Flow capability, aka porting of the parts you mentioned, will only help the cam work.
Amoung your other things you're doing, consider headers (Hooker 2055's would be excellent), screw-in rocker studs, positive-type valve stem seals, and springs to match the cam.
The cam can be replaced if the radiator and AC condensor are moved out of the way. You don't have to open the system in order to move the condensor out of the way.
