TRACTION

Anything I can put on my tires to give me traction? Ive seen big dragsters and funny cars put something on the tires after they lay rubber, before they start the race. Anything I can put on em to get a temporary sticky affect? I thought of honey

I think you are talking about when the car backs up and the guys walk up and brush the xtra dirt and rubber off the tire. They aren't putting anything on there. I think super glue would work though but man would that stink.

I talk too much

Bleach is actually more lubricating than motor oil- it's just corrosive :P

Th VHT stuff works pretty good.

Bleach?? Yea, you can use bleach if you want to create a huge white cloud but not for traction.....

VHT traction compound is the only thing I'd recommend.

Lay it down about 10 feet out from the starting line in front of both tires.

Do a GOOD burnout in it.

When the rear-end breaks, don't call me *****in'

Another technique is to put it in a spray bottle. After you put it down, light it. Let it burn itself out and put a little more on top of it. You wanna see hook?

Like I said...I don't wanna hear about it if you break it.

I heard that before people drag race they back the back tires in a puddle of water, and creep up just past the water (onto dry pavement) and just lay one, but only for a few seconds and its suppose to make the tires sticky, but then again thats on drag tires, check it out see what happens

go to a national event and stay after the last run. walk on the launchpad, and see if you can keep your shoes on your feet. they spray the track with something, but im not sure what it really is, they call it "treatment". bleach cleans the tires of oil and grease, when you haze it off during the burnout, a clean tire is stickier than a dirty one. the burnout also heats the tires, stickier still. then they get to the sticky launchpad and carefull clutch setup hooks 5000+ h.p. to the track, all this means nothing to our street tires, they are hard and cold. I just drive around the bleachbox and pre stage, the moron in the next lane slings water all up in his fenderwells and its still dripping on the tires when the ambers go. I get the winlight and get a pepsi, he gets a beer and goes home early.
