Water from A/C leaking into passenger compartment

Can anyone tell me where the drain for the air conditioning system is at on a 1985 IROC-Z? Have taken a couple of longer than usual trips and ended up with the passenger side floor board looking like a lake. Isn't there supposed to be a tube or hose or something that dumps this stuff on the road or whatever? Any help would be greatly appreciated

That's not your A/C, that's your heater core that's leaking.

What Andy said.

Replace your heater core, or if you don;t mind losing your heater you can remove the heater hoses in the engine bay. Block off where they used to come from, and you're good to go.

Don't go jumping into the heater core job just yet.

If its green and slimy, yes you need a heater core.

If its clear, the vent tube can feed back into the cab on A/C cars.

Should be a little rubber tube hanging out of the bottom of the heater box in the engine comp.

You can see it from the bottom.

Thanks for all who replied. The liquid is clear and only appears after running the A/C. I've replace the heater core back in the early 90's. (what a bear, not to mention pain in the back and other places). I also had the evaporator core replaced last summer, but never recognized a problem as I don't normally take it on long trips. I crawled underneath the car, but can't see any type of tube or hose extending down. Wonder if the shop failed to put it back on or something? The bottom of the evaporator core box is directly over the frame rail and I can't even get my hand under there. Should I open up the box to see what I can see, or is that something that should be left up to a shop?

There is no drain tube in these cars. It's just s hole in the bottom of the housing, right under the evap, about 1½" from the firewall. You'll need to pull the evaporator to fix it. That's not too hard, you can take apart the box on top of it and just lift it out. You don't have to drain the refrigerant or break open the A/C system.
