cuts out when giving gas

Car: 1988 camaro iroc-z
Engine: L98 5.7 tpi
Transmission: 700 r4
cuts out when giving gas
when starting the car sometimes it will idle right but it will eventully wanna die but i can barely touch the gas and it will idle back up if i push the gas further down it will die as if it was choking.. when in drive it just cuts out like its running out of gas..its throwing a code 44 " lean 02 sensor" and suggestions??

Fuel delivery
Change the fuel filter. Check fuel pressure UNDER LOAD; should be around 38 psi no-load (idling), 43 psi full load at 3000 RPM or so.
If the filter doesn't fix it, prepare yourself mentally for replacing the fuel pump.
