Comp Roller Cam.. What Distributor Gear?

So I bought a custom cam for my engine... It's a Comp Cams Custom Street Roller cam, Core 08-000-8.

Will I need to change distributor gears to run this cam or am I fine with my stock distrubutor gear?

What gear should I look for if my stock one won't work?

Looks like it's a cast core

Any factory distributor made since about 1981 has the right gear; the "melonized" one.

The -8 in the cam code tells you.

-8. Street Roller hydraulic or solid. Will work with most standard distributor gears.

This means any factory or aftermarket distributor gear will work. Only when you get a billet cam will a bronze gear be required unless the billet cam has a cast gear pressed onto it.
