I need to have the rest of the r12 refridgerant evacuated from the system. I guess I have to take it to a shop to do this...how much would they charge?? Aren't they just going to recycle it and sell it? I'll be damn pissed if they charge alot and make money off it!

 

well it was dirt cheap for me.
it was evacuated on the rear bumber of a utility van!

I got some quotes for this and it was like 50 bucks.. Mine was almost empty so I just used a screwdriver to hold down the pins and open the ports and vented the **** out..

 

Dittos for me. My cost was only the time it took for me to open the valve - free.

Ya know, the EPA offers $10,000 reward for the conviction of people who "vent" there A/C systems to the atmoshpere. I could really make some money here.
