what cam do i have?
hey guys
i've been wondering this for a while and still havent been given a definitive answer. maybe you fellas with your wealth of knowledge can shed some light. i heard that the 86 ta's came with 2 different cams. one hot and one not so hot. how do i know which cam i have? what are the specs on each cam? what are the horsepower numbers on each engine? i have an maf, TPI, '86 305 and the yellow line on the stock tachonometer is at 5000 with a red line at 5500. thanks in advance.

If teh car's a manual you have the "hot" cam and your TA is rated at 215HP (I think), If you have an auto (like me 
) you get teh damned "peanut cam" and your engine puts out a very unimpressive 190HP.
About the tach, I am not sure which car got which. One of my LB9/700R4's (88) has a 5500 redline and the other (86) has a 6000 redline. I am not sure what determined the size of tach your car got.
