Any oil additives recommended to stop a minor leak.

if i were you i wouldnt put any of those additives in my engine. is it comming from the back where the manifold meets the block? only real good cure for this is to rip it off and put a nice sized bead of grey rtv sealer on the front and back where the manifold touches the block, let it cure a few minutes to where it forms a light skin and then install the manifold as usual

Ron,

Not a flame, but just helping you reason it out. You probably already know the correct answer.

Anything that you can add to oil that will sludge up and seal a gap on the underside of the intake will likely also sludge up and seal the ring lands, pressure relief valve, and any other closer-tolerance engine parts.

Additives that enhance the oil are marginal enough, but those designed to stop oil consumption and leakage are very suspect. I'd save the cash on the oil additives and get a new set of "Walls of China" and RTV.

Ron, is it coming from the intake manifold bolts? If so, wouldn't take long to back them out and coat them with teflon thread sealer. Be specific about where the leak is and maybe we can help. You may just have to bite the bullet and pull the intake again. I second Vader about the additives for sure.

Hey Ron, it may be a pain in the nads, but you have done a lot of work to your car, so do it right. Pull it part and do it again right. Listen to these guys, they know what they are talking about.
Good luck man.

I agree with "JETHROIROC". IF the leak is coming from one of the manifold bolts, just tightning them (torking to specs?) may solve the problem.

That happened to me. Completely stock 305 TPI '91 that, after ~80K miles, I suddenly noticed a teeny little puddle of oil around the center bolts on both the left and right sides of the manifold. It had been absolutely dry for the previous 80K miles!

I removed the runners, tightned the bolts that were a little loose and it solved the problem. I didn't even coat them with teflon seal - although that's a good idea.

If your manifold front or rear seal is leaking, try this trick. Get a few Q-tips and some sealant and swab some sealant over the area where the manifold and block meet. Worked fine for me.

there is oil on the oil pan,, seems like its dripping from the intake.
this is the crap Edelbrock intake that had casting problems with the injector bolt holes being too low, so im figuring it also has a sealing problem in the rear.. oh well.

Also check your distributor housing gasket if you're thinking it's from the rear of the engine. Just another easy thing to rule out.
