Second Starter in a Year?

Is this common?

My starter is doing the "click" thing. I replaced the solenoid last year less than 4K miles ago.

I suppose it is to be expeted that this would happen since I drive very short trips many times a week but under a year? Cmon!

Wel dayum! Thanks Eric.

So the clicking is the starter, right? Not the solenoid?

on my mazda I had a problem with a small click and then a weird high pitched (like a tv left on mute ) noise or it would stick in the keep trying to start stage
all that was wrong with it was the selenoid was sticking
took it apart sprayed it down with WD-40 and then wiped it dry as I can and it worked since
