Whenever I get on the pedal and start to accelerate, there is a clunk noise, which seems to be in the drive shaft. Do you know what this could be? Thanks in advance!
Sounds like a busted tranny mount. Relatively simple fix. Find someone who carries the rectangular shaped one if you want a rubber mount, it used to be listed under mid 80's Monte Carlos, its a much stronger mount and bolts right in.

yes i'd prescribe a broken tranny mount aswell... just get a poly one... I replaced mine with a stock one and it's broken again...
Thanks MadMax that helped me kinda find out what was wrong. My car is an 89 Firebird Formula 350, is that what you think is wrong?
Thanks!

Order of probability:
1) Tranny mount
2) Tranny mount
3) Tranny mount
4) Torque arm bushing
5) Voices in your head
6) Voices from outerspace
7) Voices in my head
8) Your car's Voice
The clunking sounds when you accelerate is a classic for the tranny mount being busted. Regardless of the year and motor of the vehicle. My old 89 2.8 made that sound. My friends 77 Chevy pickup made that sound. My advice would be to get the car in the air, pull the mount and see if its busted. If it is borrow someones vehicle and get one. then replace it.
I would recommend that you go buy the part, but seeing as how youre not taking anybodys advice, check it for yourself then go get the part.

I had a similar problem with my car, I thought it was coming from the rear end or the rear of the drive shaft. I had the fluid in my Posi Rear change, and it went away. The Mechanic told me that when the fluid breaks down in these rears, it will do that. He said it was important to put the posi additives back in the rear. It was a pretty bad noise. I thought the friggin rear was on it's way out for sure, but it is perfect now, and has been for about 2 months.
