what are the "free mods"
i have heard people talk bout them but i dont know what they are...cuz i wanna do them to my car
and i was wondering...if i just took off the belt to the A.I.R. thing would that work....or do i have to take off the whole thing?

From what I have heard basically you through all the stuff the factory did to make it pass emmission and throw it out the window.

Thats not it! You do that you're gonna get in trouble during inspection time.
I'm not sure what all of them are but I do know a few, as I have been doing them myself. Free mods or cheap mods are some of the basic things you can do. The first free/cheap mod a normal old tuneup.
Another one is moving the battery to the trunk of the car, making your own white face gauges, gee its all slipping my mind right now. Anyone else??

It is stuff like:
Gutting your MAF
Removing the rain guards in the intake on Camaro's
Porting the plenum
Relocating the Air intake temp sensor
TB By-pass
ETC....ETC....All stuff you can do to help it a little, without costing money. Removing the emissions stuff won't gain you much HP at all, plus may hurt you more in the long run.

I wouldnt touch the MAF. I'd get rid of the AIR. I got rid of mine and the car pasted e check with flying colors and the guy didnt care it was gone. All they need to see is the cat.
