Timing on a 383 stroker?

i just built a 383 stroker motor and i'm gonna throw a light on it tonight so i'm wondering what should the timing be for it to perform best? thanks

The optimal timing depends on your particular setup, especially the cam. Almost any SBC combo works well between 32-36 degrees total timing. You just have to experiment to find what works best for your particular combo. I'm guessing this is a fairly mild street engine, I would try 10-12 degrees initial timing and 34 total..thats a good starting point.
