what is this noise????

it only started like yesterday. it is like a clunking nosie. it kinda sounds like my exhaust is lose but i kicked it and its not. it coming from the passanger side. also it makes the clucking noise more on bumpy roads then nice paved roads. Someone told me it could be my balljoints. but im not really sure any ideas. also the struts were done like a year and half and between that time the car sat for 9 months.
any ideas??

also i should mention that it has something to do with the right front wheel. it sounds like it is loose or something. just so you knew what i was talking about.

Best thing to do is raise the car properly on jackstands, and take all safety measures, then start giving things a wiggle and a shake and see if you can duplicate the clunk, or find something loose.

Regardless of any possible suggestions that may be forthcoming, you'll still need to get under it to verfiy.

I agree with 8MIKE9 check out the offensive area. Look at the disk brakes caliper and see if you can move it. I had almost the same problem and it turned out to be the bolts hold the caliper to the spindle.

its not when i brake. but yea i guess that is the best idea im just trying to rule things out liek i don't think it is the struts. what else would make a nosie balljoints, tirerods, any other ideas?

I'd check everything in that area of the wheel and suspension.

Does it only make that noise while the car is moving??

My two guesses are to check the struts and the grab the wheel and wiggle up/down and side to side to see if there is any play.

Accually I would suspect the struts. I had the same problem. And the struts were completly blown! especialy the right side, which is ware the noise was coming from. Push up down on right front side of car until you get it going prety well and let it go. If it only takes 1 to 1 1/2 bounces for the struts to return to normal thay are okay. 2 bounces ia pushing it, but still ok.

ball joints , tie rods ,wheel bearings. also check make sure the strut is not leaking oil, it could be blown.also an easy way to check jack tire about 3" off ground, put a pry bar (about 3' one works good) you can use a piece of pipe a crowbar whatever, stick it under the tire and jerk up on it. push the top of the tire inwards to. also while its up off the ground...grab tire at 3 oclock and 9 from behind and wobble it back and forth...you should not hear and clunking doing either one of these. (maybe some very small from side to side from steering play) but really should not be any.
