DOH!!! Clay tested heads, now I may have clay in piston rings?
I used plumbing putty to test valve to piston clearance on my rebuild. Problem is: it smooshed some putty inbetween the piston and bore. I rotated the engine several times before I took the head back off. There was a little bit of clay smeared on the bore. I think I cleaned all of it out of the gap with folded paper and oil, but I am worried that there could still be some in there (between the rings) that could mess stuff up. The bore and piston looks clean when I rotate the engine now.
Is this clean enough? Or do I have to tahe the pan back off and remove the piston?

I'd be concerned with what happens to it when heated...i/e does it cause a build up behind the rings in the lands, does it harden like nails?
If it deteriorates on heat, then no problem, but you may want to call the manufacturer and find out it properties.
Hate to see the stuff get hard as nails and start galling the cylinders.
