LT1 Intake Matched to Vortec Heads

Can this be done? I know the vortec heads require special intakes, but can the two be paired? Or would the LT1 Heads be an easier choice.

Also, does anyone have a link to the artice where LT1 Heads are matched to a GEN I Small block???

http://www.lt1intake.com is all you need for a basic Lt1 swap. If you want Vortec heads, buy an LT4 intake from Summit for $250-ish and adapt the LT4 intake the same way.

if you're using vortec heads why not just get a vortec style intake?most cost less than$250 anyway.

I'm getting to the point where I am going to give this a shot(lt1 intake and vortecs) I think.

Distributor mods will be the same.

Coolant mods will be the same.

Bolt holes will be the biggest issue as the vortecs only have the 4 bolts on each side(8 total) 2 frt and 2 rear holes on each side.(they are striaght up and down)

I can see existing material on the base may have to be added to and/or added to and then cut down flush to make a pad for the bolts to sit on

I believe the local junkyard has a L99 car and can jack the intake off of.

If someone has an L99 intake and/or a LT4 intake and access to some vortec heads I would appreciate some pics to help with planning.

If anyone here has actually done it or can post pics of someone who has, it would be appreciated. It's often rumored and never seen :-)

It wouldnt cost me alot and I do my own tuning, I do not want to cut the hood for a stealthram and who knows when we will see the BBK intake.

Should liven up a 383 now wouldnt it :-)

later
Jeremy
