car won't start no power at all
I just finished putting 350 in my Z. I hooked everything up and i have no power headlights won't even come on. Now I checked to make sure the battery was good, I'm at a loss as to what could be wrong, I didn't have a ground strap on the block to firewall so i put one on, still nothing stater doesn't even click . Any help or suggestions as what to check or could be causing this would be greatly appreciated.

check the fusible links at the starter. I had my crack and break. My complete electrical system went in the crapper. my lights came on but wouldn't come up. no interior electrical, etc.

You know i'm not sure i have the starter wires right? The way I have them is looking at them i have the main battery cable going to the big terminal, then i have one small wire going to a small terminal on the left, then two small wires going to a terminal on the right. Is this the right way, could someone please tell me the right way if they're wrong.

You should have ONE purple wire going to the "S" ("Solenoid") terminal. That's the one that tells the starter to start starting. It has a small connector on the end.
All the other wires, probably 2 or 3 of them, go to the big terminal where the battery cable goes. Those carry battery power to various parts of the car that need it.... like, the headlight switch, the ignition switch, etc. They have LARGE connectors on them, so they fit well on the LARGE terminal.
There may be a second small terminal on the solenoid marked "R" ("Relay"... was used back in the days of point ignitions, but no longer). No wires go there.
Small connector to small terminal, LARGE connector to LARGE terminal. This is not rocket science; it's just a car.

Be sure the fusible links are on the same large terminal as the batt-positive cable, not the other large one.
