Won't start

OK, I put an 87 L98 into my pickup. I used a painless wiring harness.

Now I go to start it and usually it won't start. I have got it to start a few times, but then I got to set the timing, and I can't get it fired up again.

I thought it was the oil pressure switch. I jumped that, and it didn't make any difference. Then I double checked that the cold start injector wire was connected to the starter wire correctly, and it was.

I started going through a check list in my "TPI swappers guide". It says to check for a blinking light on the injector connector with a test light while cranking(says use some special test light???) Anyways, the regular test light I'm using just goes out.

I checked for spark, and I'm getting spark.

Its weird cause it has started a few times and seemed to run ok. But then most of the time it doesn't start.

Any suggestions? Oh...I'm also not setting any codes.

BTW I got the engine out of a Blazer and I'm using the same harness. In the blazer it was working fine, so I don't think any of the sensor are bad.

I figured that issue out.

I didn't have the computer hooked up to a power source that was hot in both run AND start, just start.

I'm surprised it started at all????
