Engine cuts off in drive and low oil pressure

Ok here the deal I got a new engine 327 single pattern hyd tappet cam 292 dur and .480 lift I've added 1.6 rockers so its higher now. Compression is about 9.61 and it has 30 lbs injectors the fuel pressure is about at 26. The car starts right up it has a choppy idle, no back firing, revs and sounds like its timed just right but when I put it in drive the car wants to cut off when a load is applied. Also the oil pressure when hot goes to 10 psi and when I rev it it goes to about 40psi I already have a aftermarket oil gauge oil pumps staight to the gauge so I ruled that out.

Thanks for any suggestion you can give me!

Fuel pressure should be 43.5 psi. I'd check the voltage to the fuel pump and if OK you will need to replace it.
Oil pressure is right where it should be. What weight oil are you using? I run AMSOIL 0-w30 in all of my cars and trucks and that's the pressure I like to see. On my 12 sec. race car idle is about 5 psi 7200 rpm about 45 psi.

I had it a 40 when I first started and the car smelled rich when it was running so I turned it down to 30. It was doing the same thing at 40 psi. It seemed to move down to 26 on its own. Do you think the 30 lbs injectors are too much for the stock fuel pump?

Im running some cheap oil also that might have something to do with the pressure too.

Don't take this the wrong way but you don't have anywhere near enough motor for 30 lbs injectors. Plus you need a new chip for your computer. I would go with some 22 and contact Alvin at PCM ForLess for a custom burn.

I not going to go through a mail order custom burn chip service no matter what you tell them your car has they can't make a chip as good a a dyno shop can. I've already got a dyno tune shop in mined for that. My orginal plan was to have a 383 built but things didn't work out that way I don't have the money to get another set of injectors or get it dyno tuned right now. So I'm just trying to work with what I got. Please just give me ideas on how to keep it running when I put it in gear.

Ya...you don't have enough motor to warrant 30lb injectors unless you have some good tuning going on.

Don't be thinking mailorder, but you have a few choices...do it yourself (DIY_PROM forum, Ed Wright---has a good rep, or or figure your engines output correctly (not overestimatng) with the many online calculators, and run a more appropriate injector size to get you close.

The reason I recommended Alvin at PCMforLess is that he flew in to KC for a dyno tuning day. Several people had him send them some chips based on their setups so they would be close on the tune till he came into town to do the final tuning on the dyno. On the dyno no one gained more than about 5 more hp. That's pretty darn close. He knows his stuff and if you ever met him you'd agree!
