Completely Removing the AC
I have removed most of the components of my AC. I removed the top half of the evaporator housing to get it out and left it off. What can I do to close this off? I've heard that the blower housing from a non AC car will bolt up and work. Will it work the same if I custom fabbed a flat plate to just bolt to the top? I think it would be a great place to mount an MSD box. Give me your opinions. Also I have yet to remove the condenser. Can it be removed without needing fabbing and/or other parts. How do I take it out? Take off the shroud and pull up?

yup i ripped all that out of mine a month or so ago. amazing how easy it is to get at the header bolts now. you pull the top cover off and the condenser will slide right out. i took the whole box out of mine and now im in the process of looking for a non a/c heater box...among many other things.

I think you might have misread the post or I'm calling the wrong thing the condenser. I already took the thing in the firewall out. The one in front of the radiator is the one that I was talking about. But while we're at it. How did you get the rest of the box out too?

Ok, so I was right. Sorry for the confusion. So does anyone have opinions about blocking off the evaporator box in the firewall? Custom fab a plate to mount a MSD box or get the non AC blower cover from another car? And does the condeser come out easy?

DEFINATELY get a non-AC heater box. You won't believe the space you'll have after you put that on. You'll have plenty of room mounting an MSD box there with the smaller heater box. You can get one in West Hartford from a guy named Matt (860)983-4223. It's an f-body junkyard. I got mine from there, it was pretty rusty, but I got it sandblasted and painted it myself and now looks better than new! Good luck Ryan.
