And the bowtie breathers aren't?

What's C.A.R.B. going to think of that engine?

That's the best freaking part. Good thing you don't have to deal with home owners associations. Hell I'll get the neighbor down the street bringing MY garbage can up if I don't bring it in soon enough because it's "ugly."

Engine looks good man. Is that ground I see through the heater vent on the firewall? Is there a floorboard? When's it going to be running?

hooker super comp long tubes, as you can see most everything other than motor itself is ripped outa there so shouldnt be too much trouble, if it is i can always raise the motor a little bit, only 2 bolts away

Your gixxer what? 600, 750, 1000? I'm a bike fanatic, I wanna know! I used to own a modded little 04 EX500, all I could afford at the time...but I put a Hindle full 2-1 on it, a K&N drop in, modded the airbox myself, tuned the carbs, some cosmetic mods, and a +4 rear Sunstar rear sprocket and RKSport 520 X-ring.... For a little bike that sucker hauled *** with that +4... Sure do miss it...had to sell it

That would be unreal if you could just bolt your TPI back on there for a day, and have a chip burned, and then pass.
What are you going to do about smog?
Have fun til Aug.

Nice bike. IMO, looks better after the wreck. See way too many cookie cutter gixxers around here, nice to see one that looks different.

Glad to hear you walked away fine... Dont got wreck photos do ya? I never went down before I sold mine but am a firm believer in the fact that, at some point, EVERYONE goes down. Some people just don't believe that....but I feel that's asking for trouble.

Sorry I don't know of any such guy... At times I wish I did though.
If such a guy exists, I don't think he'd be happy about having his name posted on the internet

But if your car's still on the road after Aug, I'll know you found the answer.

how'd you doit on the street? I had the heads torn off, parts all over the place, tools everywhere and the police never said a word. My neighbor is an EMT and is putting on a deck. Cops stopping everyday talking to him. I get everything put back together. Tools cleaned up. I was putting a battery charger on my car and a cop stops and tells me I can't work on my car on the side of the street

I didnt assemble the motor in the street i just dropped it in there. Towed my camaro from my mothers house to my fathers house where i have been buildling my engine in his garage. Did it early in the morning um just got a cherry picker and took the old 355 out (already torn apart to the short block, i didnt dis assemble it right then n there and only figure out what was wrong with it then) set it on a tire on the side walk wheeled my 412 outa the garage and dropped it in...funniest part about it was there wasnt any parking infront of my house so i did it infront of the neighbors

nice, ya got ***** doing it on the street. Most people that do that are working with a car / or parts that look like a POS. Your engine looks choice and your engine lift / stand looks as good as new. How could they gripe about car show looking parts??? Im sure people would gripe if you were working on a rusty old dodge van as opposed to a clean looking sports car with lots of flashy parts.

They were griping, you can be sure of that.
It's just that he got the job wrapped up before they had a chance to figure out who's going to be the one to come out and tell him about it.

i tried and as empty as my engine compartment is its still gonna be a pita, i shoulda done just as you said lol, oh well guess its time to jack the motor up some, anybody know of any problems if i place a jack under the damper or should i just use the engine hoist again, i know i should but a jack under the damper would be soooo much easier

i got her running today guys, only for a sec tho cuz i have no oil pressure so i shut her off...aftermarket pump with an ARP shaft and a malory distributor, now i primed it before and with my drill i got 60 psi with it spinning as fast as the drill can spin so i know the pump works so my guess is my distributor isnt making contact with the shaft...but the distributor is all the way down so my question is do they make different length shafts or whats the deal? It came with its own shaft so im gonna try that but i figured every shaft is the same length so why would my ARP one not be long enough? Anybody think they know was up?
