What would give better SOTP difference and acceleration?
Okay, here's what I might do next if I keep my T/A. I'm thinking either 3.42 gears or headers and a cam. What would provide better acceleration? Keep in mind I have 2.73 and the L98 cam so I could easily drop over .5 with gears, however it won't increase my trap speed or my hp. But headers and a cam will. But let's say I raced my own car, who would win, the car with gears or the car with a cam and headers?
And no I won't do both at the same time. One or the other.
Thanks.

Definitely do the gears before headers/cam. A faster car is based on ET's not trap speed. You'll have 25% more torque multiplication with the 3.42's. Torque is what you feel at the SOTP.
.5 seconds off your ET is equivalent to at least 30 Hp. With the stock LB9 heads, the cam and headers may not equal that, even with tuning.
How many miles are on your 305? I would not recommend a cam swap for a high mileage engine.

I have 82K on it. The engine runs like a top! So you're saying 25% more torque multiplication, so instead of 320lbs of torque, it will feel like 375-395? Obviously, it won't give me more power, but it will feel like it.
As for the ET shows power, and LS1 will do 13.5@104 or whatever, a GTP wieghs roughly the same, but will do 13.5@ 102, because the LS1 has more hp. Or am I missing something here?
