How long can you drive when service engine light is on?
How long can you drive your car safely after the service engine soon lights comes on? I don't want to mess anything up, so if you guys could help me out, i would appreciate it, Thanks!
Anywhere from one block before the engine seizes to infinitly. The key is what condition has triggered the lamp in the first place.
They don't put those lamps on the dash for mood lighting, you know...

Then why is it the same color as the mood lights in my conversion van????
It really does depend. I had the biggest pian in the *** with a code 15 for about six months. It would go on and off randomly till I FINALLY!!! found out what was going on. Of course this was just a Coolant Temperature Sensor and really only caused a hard start condition and I got really poor fuel mileage. Dude, just find out what's going on. You can figure it out with a paper clip. Go to the FAQ section on the classifieds and it will tell you how to scan your codes. Post them here and we'll help you fix it.
