trunk not wanting to lock.... how can i fix??



my trunk on my 88 camaro
has that electronic latching system
it not wanting to latch down ..... the
electric motor that pulls it down isnt
turning on.... the unlock button unlocks
it fine ...is there a fuse that can fix this?? help me out........

The motor moves up and down in the housing. Several times the motor got stuck down on mine, to raise it up so it will latch the hatch there is a switch down inside the housing just click it up and the motor should rise. This is one possible cause.

Yes, somehow this happens ALOT. Just try sticking your finger in the lock and see if you can trip the switch that pulls the motor down.

ya, me and my friend just spent half an our the other day trying to get his fixed, turned out a bolt came out and was blocking the thing from coming up.

i just had that problem yesterday, except my motor gears were strippped. i just disconnected the power to the motor and adjusted the lock where the trunk could close all the way without needing to be pulled down. i'll probably get a new motor assembly soon but thats a quick fix and it works well
