Pushrod length for factory roller block with solid roller lifters.
I have spring loaded horizontal Crane solid roller lifters , .300 taller for factory roller blocks. I have a 4 bolt FACTORY ROLLER BLOCK 385 stroker, 6" rods, etc... just finished. My concern is the push rod length, 8". Seems long to me considering factory roller motors came with 7.2" push rods. I know my push rods should be somewhat longer due to the fact that my cam is a .631/.631 lft, .248/.254 dur. @.050 solid roller with a small base circle, but 8 inches still seems long. Anybody else have a similar combo?
Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This motor was built by The Car Shop in Moline Illinois (builder of Robin Lawrence's engine). I haven't picked it up yet, so I can't check. You'd think they would know what they are doing, but damn, that seems long, don't you think?
