what does it take?

what does it take to reach 500hp at the wheels? my engine combination is going to be a 355 with forged speed pro pistons, forged esp eagle h beam rods, forged 4340 eagle esp crank. as well other standard stuff like arp bolts, milidon oil pump/pan. i plan to run the gm fast burn alluminum heads with the edelbrock pro flow efi system. this seems like a pretty descent combination. im more than likely going to have a custom cam ground by comp. friends have told me ill be in the 450hp range at the crank. and i want n/a 500hp at wheels. any suggestions? keep streetablity in mind.

not possible in my opinion with only 355 inches, now a 383 or a 400 might get you there and still be streetable.

stroke the 355, if you are buying pistons bore it over as well. It will get you there, why 500hp @ the wheels?

If your forging the whole bottom end, then nitrous will not be a problem. That would be your cheapest and easiest solution.

why 500hp? because its right in the middle. my dream is to build a car that has 1000hp but we all know thats really expensive and im only 19 so not really possible at this point. unless i owned a supra. if i used nitrous how would it work if i ran 10.6:1 compression isnt that a little high? so if stroked it to a 383 plus the .30 over i would have a 388? i heard they dont rev to high compared to a 350/355 because of the stroke. do you think with my setup that i could react 500hp with only 33 more cubic inches?

nitrous likes compression
boost does not like compression.
