Couple cam swap questions....
Hey guys just in the middle of my cam swap and had a few ?? for ya.....
1. when going back on with the intake manifold.....do you use black RTV or is there a special sealant/gasket maker I should get.
2. when going back on with the balancer can it be slid on with a block of wood and hammer.....avoiding the outside of the HB of course...mabe put the pully on first then tap it on???
3. one of my crane gold RR came loose about 10K miles ago and started tapping....I pulled the valve cover off and fixed it....when I removed the RR yesterday and took a close look at it I noticed it had some nicks on the main body...looks like the stud bolt rubed it a bit....there are a couple other nicks where the push rod contacts it too...is this somthing to worry about?
...thanks for any input!!!

I like ede use the ultra copper RTV on the intake, but the black will work.
I personally would not tap on the balance. In no way shape or form would I do that. Some do and have no problems, but I prefer to keep the added stress from tapping the front bearing around like that pushing on the crank...
I ended up using a longer grade 8 bold of the same thread pitch and washers to push my balancer on. Longer so that when you start you have more threads in the crank snout than just 2-3. The further you go the more washers you add.
Replace the rocker...

If you're friendly with a performance shop they may have one laying around.
If the body of a roller rocker is just nicked you can smooth out the nick wth a die grinder. If the trunion , bearing tip or pushrod seat is damaged, get another one.
