Stock L98 iron head specs????

What are the specs for stock 1989 iron L98 heads??? runner size? combustion chamber?

I'm considering one of the follwing heads:

Edelbrock #60859 performer aluminum heads
60cc 165cc-runner
http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...=egnsearch.asp

Dart Pro 1 Aluminum heads.
64cc 200cc-runner
http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...=egnsearch.asp

Will the Edelbrocks flow good enough even though they are 165cc runners??? I have the stock l98 with a bigger TPI setup and will be gettinga bigger cam to go with which heads I choose next spring so for now the heads will be the only engine mod besides some 1.6 rockers......

Whick one should I choose!!!???

Stock L98 083 heads have about a 165cc runner and have a nominal 64cc chamber.

Go with a 180cc runner.

Almost all aftermarket heads are available in 180cc and 200cc varieties.

Chevy High Performance flowed most of the stock and aftermarket SB and BB heads and posted the data here:

There aren't a whole lot of fans of the Edelbrock heads around here. I think they're an excellent choice for a daily driver with a mild to moderate cam. They come with 2.02/1.60 valves and 1.45" dia valve springs. The flow on the intake is better than many other heads with larger port volumes which means good velocity for part throttle and lower RPM power production. The exhaust flow is also very good. AFR 180s have more potential but at significantly higher cost once you add options for centerbolt valve covers, drilling for temp sender, and milling the chambers to 60 cc (or less). This is all included in the base 60859 cost. I plan to pair a set of the 60859 heads with a ZZ3 cam that I already have to go with an upgraded TPI. I think this will make a great daily driver with 12 second potential that passes both the tailpipe and visual emissions checks they do around here.
